As a taxi driver you will most likely to have carry liability coverage and bodily injury liability or BIL. The Bodily Injury Liability will cover claims of payment for the injuries and even death caused by the driver. If there is an accident cause by the taxi driver, the taxi driver is protected from paying for the medical expenses or burial expenses as well as for the attorney’s fee once a lawsuit has been file.

Injuries to the driver are not included in this claim. Also important point to keep in mind is that auto insurance coverage for taxi drivers is the property damage liability or they call it “PD”. If the taxi damages a property, it may be another person’s car or part of the house, the taxi driver is covered. Physical damage and collision damage coverage are essential as well.
Most of the taxi drivers spend all their working days on the roads, so they are more prone to accidents than a regular driver. “Cash for clunkers” shoppers flood car lots
Buying a fuel efficient car is great for the environment, but new cars generally have higher auto insurance rates because they are more expensive to repair and replace. You may end up offsetting the savings from the government. Fuel efficient cars do cut gas costs weekly right away, but auto insurance rates can cost you a lot more money over time so shopping around is crucial. According to a study from women-drivers.com 22% of drivers shopped for auto insurance before buying their policy for their new car. Rates are dropping so shopping around for auto insurance is a smart move.

There is a wide range of difference for purchasing or hiring a limousine as compared to that of a normal car. Clearly these differences are noticeable between their auto insurances also. The basic difference between the two cases is that the insurance companies are more secure about the limousine drivers than just an ordinary man driving a regular car. This is because limousine companies and their drivers need to have educated drivers or chauffeurs to match the status of their vehicle.

The limousine companies make sure that each driver have completed driving education and have passed the defensive driving course. This helps the limousine companies to cash in huge discounts from the insurance companies as such drivers cannot be a threat on the roads.
Another difference between these two auto insurances is that ordinary car insurance covers only the vehicle itself. But in limo insurance, the driver or chauffeur can also be covered under the auto insurance. This is very helpful to the driver in case of an accident as the insurance will help waive off the liability.
One last difference of limo insurance is that it helps the limousine company from going bankrupt in case of an accident or theft. Not like regular cars which are mostly used for personal use, limousines cater mostly as a taxi for special occasions like weddings, burials and airport. In case of accidents, the company will faced with not only huge repayments to the passengers involved as well as big lump sum for replacement or repair of the damaged vehicle. Even in case of theft, the huge price tag may hurt the company very badly. In all such cases, the auto insurance will help protect the company from any big damages. Therefore, the insurance company mostly caters to a limousine company for its fleet of cars rather than the owner of a single limousine. This helps them to get good packages for the insurer.
