According to the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NCBIB) each year more than 1.4 million cars are reported stolen. That is one stolen car every 24 seconds. Many of the same cars make the top of the list year after year. The most common stolen cars are widely popular and are commonly use on the road.

Porches, Lexus, Merced and BMW are not on the top ten list. Thieves are not interested in these luxury cars. Overall, thieves are not looking for American cars. More Japanese made cars like Honda Civic and Honda Accord are likely to get stolen.
